How is this approach different?

The root causes of your health issues are identified and then targeted using nutritional and lifestyle interventions based on the latest scientific evidence. The nutritional and lifestyle programme that you receive is personalised to your biochemistry, genetics and abilities. Nutrition is a complex science and foods contain many different compounds that affect the body in various ways. It is by understanding what your body needs and applying the right nutrition at the right time that we can promote and support healing.

How long does it take to work?

This very much depends on what the root causes are, your state of general health and your ability to make the consistent changes necessary. Symptoms may begin to reduce almost immediately in some circumstances, but generally between 3 weeks to 3 months is when the bulk of the beneficial changes will be felt. It is recommended that 3 months is the minimum amount of time that we work together.

What lab tests do you use?

There are many test that we can use, but the most common involve a stool test for gut health, a urine test for metabolic and digestive health and a saliva test for hormones. Almost all tests can be completed at your home, however, other tests, such as blood tests may be ordered where necessary and will require a visit to a clinic. All tests are conducted by UK and USA accredited laboratories. For UK clients, NHS testing is used where possible.

How much does it cost?

Group programmes vary in price, register on the My Services page for updates.

Clinical costs depend on the level of support needed. For more information, book a Discovery Call by clicking here.

Lab tests vary from £50 - £350 per test.

Supplement costs vary from £0 - £100 per month.

What payments do you accept?

Payments are made via Visa, Mastercard or PayPal when booking.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine focusses on addressing root causes, not symptoms. Attention is paid to each person's biochemistry, lifestyle and genetics to understand how disease has come about. Following this, a programme to restore overall balance and health in the body can be developed and optimal health promoted. More information can be found here.

Are you a doctor?

No. Whilst I hold a Masters degree and have had extensive training in biology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics and pathology, I cannot 'diagnose' or 'treat' in the legal sense of the term. I work alongside and support your conventional treatment plan. Any changes to your conventional treatments are to be decided between you and your doctor.

Is it safe?

Nutritional and lifestyle interventions are inherently much safer than drugs and with fewer side effects. In addition, I always check the medications that you are on for any interactions with foods and supplements. My practice is regulated by the CNHC and the PSA in the UK.

What's the difference between a Nutritionist and a Dietician?

Principally, a nutritionist creates nutritional programmes that are designed around an individual's biochemistry and genetics - they are client-focussed. A dietician typically designs programmes around diseases and may work in more acute care settings like hospitals and with post-operative patients - they are disease focussed.
