This is the ultimate, speedy, delicious and nutritious recipe. Even better, read to the bottom and I’ll show you how to adapt the recipe to your taste and what you have in the kitchen - no need to forage!
THE CLASSIC, 10 MINUTE NOURISHING BROTH BOWL
Preparation: 1 minute
Cooking: 9 minutes
Servings: Two light lunches or one very large portion
INGREDIENTS
One medium (approx 150g) chicken breast (you could use a fish fillet, adjust cooking time accordingly)
Boiling water to cover the ingredients
Half a red onion roughly chopped
One medium carrot chopped in half-moons
6 florets of broccoli (if the stalks are very think, slice them in half)
A small handful of parsley
1 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
TOOLS
Kettle
Pan (wide bottomed)
Knife
Peeler (optional)
Scissors (optional)
METHOD
Boil the kettle
Turn the heat on low under the pan
Cut the chicken into the pan
When the kettle has boiled, pour over the boiling water to cover the chicken and enough for the vegetables
Turn up the heat to the max
After a minute, put in the carrots and onion
After two more minutes, add the broccoli (add sooner if you like it soft)
After two more minutes, add the rice noodles
After two more minutes, add the parsley
After a minute, serve into bowls, add the butter and stir
Salt and pepper to taste

Now for the cool part…
This recipe is just a template, you can customise it to your taste. I often make this Asian with ginger and soya sauce etc.
You essentially need:
PROTEIN = a palm-sized piece of poachable protein
CARBS = 70g of any poachable starch that will cook in 10 minutes, eg. rice, pasta etc
VEG = 3 handfuls, choose vegetables that can poach in under 10 minutes
HERBS = Dried or fresh and choose according to dish/cuisine
FAT = 1 tbsp of a palatable fat (eg. butter, coconut oil etc)
